Building Connections Through Healthy Relationships

Building Connections Through Healthy Relationships is a program designed to educate students with learning difficulties following the life skills syllabus. The program encourages discussions of relationships and understanding ways of achieving healthy relationships with oneself, friends and all others who make up their world.

 

Benefits

A tailored program for an individual or small group, students attending Building Connections Through Healthy Relationships will:


  • develop an understanding of how to look after themselves as they go through the changes of puberty

  • build their confidence as they learn the skills to form healthy relationships with themselves and their peers

  • be able to identify safe and unsafe behaviours and set healthy boundaries for themselves as they move through the teen years

 

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes include:


  • understanding the development and changes during puberty

  • respect of self and others

  • importance of hygiene and mental and physical health

  • how to communicate boundaries and identify appropriate and inappropriate behaviours
